Booking Reschedule, Both Sides

Plans change. Until this week the only way to move a booking was to cancel it and rebook, which meant refunding a payment, losing the booking number and asking the customer to pay again for the same session. Both halves of the real answer landed this week.

The seller half needs no setup. Every pending or confirmed time-slot booking in Manage Bookings now has a Reschedule button, which opens the listing's upcoming days with the remaining room on each slot, full slots struck through. Manage Bookings itself was rebuilt as a work queue while we were in there: whatever needs the seller's answer comes first, then upcoming soonest first, then past, so the sidebar badge and the page finally count the same things.

The customer half is off by default, so nothing about your marketplace changed on its own. Turn it on in Store Settings → Booking and customers get a Request a new time button on their own bookings, where they pick another open slot. The booking does not move, the seller approves or declines, and both sides email the other. Payment is never touched.

The customer asks, the booking stays put, the seller approves. Payment is never touched.

The booking survives the move

Same booking number, same price, same payment, even if the new slot is priced differently. Capacity is re-checked on approval, so a booking can never land in a slot that filled up meanwhile.

Sellers have no deadline

The cutoff applies to customers only, so genuine last-minute changes stay possible. A seller move supersedes an open request, and you can reschedule on a seller's behalf the same way.

A session time zone underneath

A deadline needs a clock, so Booking settings gained Time zone your sessions take place in. It also fixes booking lead times, which followed the visitor's clock before. Leave it unset and nothing about your store changes.

Available on all plans. The toggle asks you to pick a session time zone first, since the deadline is measured against it. Rescheduling docs

A Sandbox Copy of Your Marketplace

There has never been a safe place to try something. Testing a payout rule, a commission change or a new listing type meant doing it on the live marketplace, where a stray test order lands in your real numbers and a test email reaches a real seller. So most owners tested nothing and hoped.

Open the menu on your store card and choose Create Sandbox. You get a second store card, a full copy of your settings, seller plans, coupons, translations and shipping config, seeded with a sample seller, listings modelled on your own and a sample order and booking. It takes Stripe test keys only, its emails reach nobody but you and your team, and search engines cannot find it.

A second card on your dashboard, fenced off from everything real

One sandbox per store. It does not count toward your store limit and is never billed.

What the fence stops
[Sandbox] Your order is on its way

Every sandbox email is prefixed and banner-marked, and is delivered only to you and your team. Anything addressed elsewhere is logged, not sent.

Transaction fees never accrue
Excluded from your metrics and reports
Not indexed, no custom domain, no public sitemap
Crons skip it: seller fees, shipping deadlines, review requests
Every feature is unlocked inside

Whatever your live plan, a sandbox behaves as the top tier. A Starter owner can run private catalog, order caps and webhooks with fake money, then upgrade when they want them live.

Test accounts without real inboxes

Sign up as [email protected] and the plus-tag passes the email fence. Any account in a sandbox, including made-up addresses, can be opened with Log in as.

Reset it whenever

Reset from live wipes the sandbox and re-copies from your real store, keeping the same address. Nothing in a sandbox ever touches live data in either direction.

Available on every paid plan including Starter, and during your trial. On your dashboard store card under the menu. Sandbox docs

Recover Label Costs from the Seller's Payout

Labels bought through Shipmondo or ShipStation come out of your carrier account, while the buyer's shipping fee is paid to the seller. Billing that back to the seller's subscription invoice works, but only if the seller is on a paid plan, which rules out most C2C marketplaces entirely.

Bill labels to sellers now asks how. Pick Deduct from the seller's payout and the label price comes out of that order's earnings when the payout is released on shipping, and stays in your Stripe balance. No invoice, no card charge, no VAT line. It is the Etsy and eBay model, and it works for every seller including free-plan ones.

You pick the mode, the seller sees the cost before and after

Weight classes, now on ShipStation too

ClassBox L×W×HPrice
Up to 1 kg25×18×8£3.20
5-10 kg45×35×25£5.00
Seller → My Sales, order #2181
Leather saddle£200.00
Shipping paid by buyer£8.00
Commission (6%)−£12.00
Stripe fee−£3.32
Shipping label: 5-10 kg−£5.00
Paid out on shipping£187.68

The £5 stays in your Stripe balance and covers what the carrier charges you. Price a class above your cost and the difference is your margin.

It fails closed

A label priced above what is left of the payout is refused, and the seller ships with their own label instead. Once a payout is released, that order can no longer be charged for a label.

Box sizes on both providers

Weight classes reached ShipStation, and each class can carry an optional length, width and height so UK carriers book the right size band rather than guessing.

Nothing changes unless you switch it

Stores already billing labels to subscription invoices keep doing exactly that. Sellers who ship with their own label and paste a tracking number are never charged either way.

Available on Business and above, in Store Settings → Shipping in either label card. Keep a standing Stripe balance if you use automatic bank payouts, since a released seller payout needs the funds to be there. Shipping docs

Seller Tags, With Suggestions That Keep the Spelling Straight

Categories are yours and they are structural. Tags are the seller's own words for the thing: a brand, a designer, a yarn weight, a material. The reason most marketplaces avoid them is that free text degrades fast, and a month in you have PetiteKnit, petiteknit and Petite Knit all pointing at different pages.

So the input suggests as the seller types, drawn from tags already used on your marketplace, with a count next to each. Typing “petiteknit” when “PetiteKnit” already exists saves it as the existing spelling. Buyers can then click a tag on a listing to see everything carrying it, and the listings-page search matches tags as well as titles.

Enter or a comma adds the tag. Saved as PetiteKnit, because that spelling already exists on the store.

Search also matches tags
Off by default, capped by you

Nothing changes on an existing marketplace until you switch Enable Tags field on. You set Max tags per listing (10 by default) and can make the field required.

Import and export round-trip

Tags are a comma-separated tags column in both CSV import and export, normalised and deduplicated on the way in, so an export can be edited and imported straight back.

One switch to check

Tags only show on the listing page when Product Detail → Tags is on. If sellers are tagging and buyers see nothing, that is the setting.

Available on all plans, in Store Settings → Listing Form in the Tags card. Listing Form docs

More Improvements

Other things shipped this week.

Improvements This Week
  • Mailchimp Sync: footer newsletter signups and verified account opt-ins push straight into your Mailchimp audience, tagged by where they came from, with a test-connection button, a one-off sync of existing subscribers and optional double opt-in. There is a new newsletter.subscribed webhook event to go with it (Pro and above, under Sellers & Buyers)
  • Trialing owners can switch between Starter, Pro and Business in one click from the dashboard banner, with no charge and the trial end date kept. The card is billed at the new price when the trial ends
  • Time-slot listings can set their own session length, with a Fill Day default and an end time for start-only slots, so a 90-minute lesson and a full-day workshop can live on the same marketplace
  • Unshipped orders show a ship-by date and a Remind seller button on your order list, and the automatic shipping reminder now goes out 2 days before the deadline instead of on it
  • The CSV importer's sample file is now built from your own listing types and custom fields, so the columns match your marketplace instead of a generic example
  • The listing form's field list gained up and down arrows next to the drag handle, and deleting a custom field or section divider now asks first
  • An opt-in 'Create a listing' call-to-action can appear under the listings grid and in the empty state, for marketplaces that recruit sellers from their own buyers
  • Seller and buyer dashboards now use your store's theme colour on every store, and the dashboard logo links back to your storefront front page
  • The docs got a setup path and a sidebar you can filter by marketplace type, so a rental marketplace is not reading service-booking steps

Bug Fixes

Bug fixes shipped this week.

Fixes This Week
  • Australia and New Zealand were missing from the Shipping Countries list, so an Australia-only marketplace could not ask for a shipping address at checkout
  • Listings belonging to sellers deleted in Seller Management are now hidden from public surfaces, along with the 'Sold by' link that 404'd
  • Stats values and labels are editable text again in the visual editor, as are P2P route prices, after they stopped offering the text box in the Content panel
  • Reordering fields on one listing type no longer reshuffles the fields on your other types
  • Two settings saves landing at once can no longer duplicate an element such as a price rule or a weight class
  • A ?tab= link can no longer open a settings tab your permissions or plan hide, such as Custom Domain on a sandbox
