Offer Only (No Buy Now)
Turn a listing type into a "talk first, then pay" flow. Listings still show a price, but as a starting point - there is no Buy now or Add to cart. The buyer messages the seller, they agree the details, and the seller sends a custom offer in the conversation that the buyer pays through the platform like any other order.

When to use it
Offer only fits any type where the final price depends on a conversation: commissioned or made-to-order work (custom knitting, portraits, furniture), repairs and restorations, personalised services, bulk or wholesale enquiries, or anything a seller would rather quote than list at a fixed price.
It is a listing-type setting, so you can keep instant purchase for your ready-made products and use offer only for the custom category alongside them.
How it works
- The seller creates a listing as usual, with a "from" price and a description of what they offer.
- On the listing, buyers see the price, a short note that it is a starting point, and the Ask a Question button. Buy now and Add to cart are hidden.
- Buyer and seller agree size, colour, timing, whatever the work needs, in the conversation.
- The seller sends a custom offer from the conversation with a title and the agreed amount.
- The buyer accepts the offer and pays. An order is created, your commission is applied, and the seller is paid out through Stripe Connect exactly as with a normal sale.
Who gets paid
Setup
- Go to Store Settings → Listing Form and select the listing type.
- Turn on Offer only (no Buy now button).
- Make sure Messaging is enabled in the same settings page - buyers need it to reach the seller.
Existing listings of that type switch immediately; no listing needs to be edited.
What changes on the storefront
Hidden
- Buy now on the listing page
- Add to cart on the listing page and on cards
- Quantity selector
Still shown
- The listing price (as an indicative starting price)
- A short note that the price is agreed by message
- Ask a Question / message the seller
- Everything else: images, custom fields, reviews, seller profile
The gate is also enforced server-side: a direct purchase or cart add for an offer-only listing is rejected, so an old tab or a crafted link cannot skip the conversation.
Limits
- Non-calendar types only. Custom offers are not available for date-range or date-time listings, so the toggle is not shown for those types.
- Only the listing's seller can send an offer. Offers always flow from the seller of the listing to the buyer in that conversation.
- Offers never include shipping. If the work has to be shipped, the seller should include it in the offer amount.
- The indicative price is still what appears in search, filters and sorting.

- Buyer Approval - keep the fixed price but let the seller vet the buyer before payment.
- Pay in Person - skip online payment altogether and settle in cash.
